In-Person Book Club at 110 Grill: Small Town, Big Oil

Monday, April 227:15—8:15 PM110 Grill Community Outreach10 Bunker Hill Ave., Stratham, NH, 03885

Join us again for our in-person book club meeting at the 110 Grill with librarian Scott Campbell. We will be reading and talking about Small Town, Big Oil by David W. Moore. This is the stranger-than-fiction true story of how a group of local New Hampshire women took on the richest man in the world, and won!

Background: Great Bay Stewards, in conjunction with the Conservation Law Foundation, are hosting a coordinated book reading and region-wide discussion about an epic battle fought 50 years ago here on the New Hampshire Coast. It was a fight against a proposed oil shipping terminal on the Isles of Shoals, an oil refinery in Durham, and a 10-mile pipeline between the two. Had it not been defeated, this massive development would have irrevocably changed our Seacoast region.

Currently, there are 27 libraries and other organizations participating!  So come and celebrate the 50th anniversary of this victory -- and Earth Day -- with us at the Stratham 110 Grill.

Books: We have 22 copies of the book available for free. Just register here for your copy!

Location: We'll meet once again in the back room. You may order drinks during our talk, but to avoid disruption of the conversation, please eat dinner *before* or *after* our discussion.

There is also a keystone event scheduled at 3S Art Space on Thursday, April 25th, with the author and special guests!

Questions? Call or email Scott at scott@wigginml.org. See you then!
